Creating my first mural was one of my biggest art goals for this year and I’ve just completed my first one, titled “A Mango A Day”, on Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles! It will be on view for the entire month of October at the Eveleigh.Read More
I’m writing this mostly to admit that half the time, I have no idea what the hell I’m doing. But I’ve learned that as long as I’m doing… then I am taking steps forward. I used to let fear keep me from doing anything at all.
Now I know… my journey is not about anyone but myself. I am my biggest obstacle.Read More
Last week I got to be apart of the creation of my first mural alongside Nessie Blaze and Le’Jon Devorier, two super dope artists I’ve been dying to work with. I was beyond excited to be asked to be part of this project painting two legends, Nipsey Hussle and Tupac Shakur.
I’m happy to contribute to memorializing Nipsey Hussle Tha Great! His passing shook me to the core and I’ve been painting him constantly since his passing. I’ve never been moved to paint a celebrity before. Anyone who follows my work knows it mostly consists of a sensual expression of womanhood. This is something much different that has been pouring out of me.
As honored as I was to be part of it, I had a very hard time feeling real joy in the process. That week I just felt weighed down by a very heavy energy, as did most of Los Angeles.
At the same time, I feel this surge of inspiration and motivation to go all in on my dreams. I feel like I can make things happen and I plan to. The marathon will continue…
You can see this mural at Para Financial Services in LA on Pico and Hauser. If you see it, please take a picture for me :) There is so much more to come, stay tuned!
This class was my first time teaching a paint and sip and when I tell you I was a nervous wreck before it all got started smh, I’m really not the best at public speaking… my hand was literally shaking at the beginning messing up my brush strokesRead More
One of my favorite things about Los Angeles is all the amazing people you cross paths with. You never know who you might meet or end up working with. It's a city full of creative beings hustling to make things happen.Read More
What an empowering way to view the ugliness of what you've been through. The idea that the very circumstances that caused you great suffering are the same things that magnify you & make you better. Your story IS your magic.Read More
It's about harnessing the sensing power of the snake and trusting your intuition, or inner-knowing, as a guide when you find yourself resisting changes in your life or stuck dwelling in the comfort of the past instead of moving forward into the unknown territories of the future.Read More
