One of my favorite things about Los Angeles is all the amazing people you cross paths with. You never know who you might meet or end up working with. It's a city full of creative beings hustling to make things happen.
I had the pleasure of featuring my art at an event by Nuit Noire, a creative collective founded by Jessi M'Bengue and Mame Adjei to highlight female artistry within various cultural components of the diaspora. The night exceeded my expectations. I believe the world needs more things like this that bring people together in such a creative and beautiful way.
Live painting was a truly soul soothing experience. As I grow as an artist and as I begin to take myself more and more seriously, I still find doing events to be stressful, like anxiety on 100. So much that I nearly talk myself out of it every single time. This time I decided to make it collaborative. Watching people an their own artful touch to my canvas really helped me relax and reconnect with the moment. I am so grateful to everyone that contributed to this piece. It made the event that much more special to me.
The highlight of the night was definitely Lubiana, her performance was so touching and awe-inspiring. Please do yourself a favor and check out her music here. The song in the video above is called Break Free.
